Dr. Salganick completed her surgical internship and residency training at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. She received additional training in the comprehensive and surgical management of breast disease at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. She went on to work as a general surgeon and clinical instructor at Metropolitan Hospital, a bustling city hospital in Manhattan. She later practiced at Ben Taub General Hospital of Baylor College of Medicine as a clinical instructor in Houston, Texas. She elected to undergo further training as a fellow in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia in 2006. She has resettled in San Diego to join Drs. Launer and Worsey in private practice in La Jolla. Dr. Salganick's practice consists of the treatment of routine and complex disorders of the colon, rectum and anus. Her areas of interest include Laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum, with a particular interest in sphincter-preservation in the surgical management of rectal cancer. Her practice spans a wide range of colorectal disorders to include carcinoma of the colon, rectum and anus, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, complex anal and rectal procedures, constipation, fecal incontinence, prolapse and female pelvic floor dysfunction. An advocate of colon and rectal cancer prevention, she also performs screening as well as diagnostic colonoscopies. She is also fluent in Spanish. Dr. Salganick is married to Dr. Sadi Erfani, and has four children: Zachary, Isaac, Ethan, Natalya. In her spare time she enjoys dance as exercise and attending many of the theater engagements in San Diego. |
